Many different assays exist that will allow quantification of overall antioxidant status for a system. Among them are Oxygen Radical Absorbance capacity (ORAC), Trolox Equivalent Antioxidant capacity (TEAC), Ferric Reducing Antioxidant Reducing Potential (FRAP) and Cupric Reducing Antioxidant Capacity (CUPRAC).

The matter of which assay is best for a specific investigation is not easily answered as it can be dependent on sample type, ROS species of interest and personal preference. Our assays include variations of the most common types of assays. Researchers are urged to consider each method in relation to their specific model system in order to select the most appropriate product.
